About Me
As a student of Journalism and International Relations, I am interested in the relationship between one person’s actions and their effect on other people in other places – that same day or hundreds of years later. My goal is to tell extended stories of these connections through in-depth data stories.
As an intern with the New England Center for Investigative Reporting, I use my data skills to find and tell stories that are important to our Massachusetts community. For two years as a Staff Writer for The Daily Free Press, Boston University’s independent student newspaper, I covered stories ranging from preparations for a potential mass shooter situation to the fortieth anniversary of the local record store. These front-page stories examined the relationships between people and their roles in our Boston community, both as preservers of life and as curators of culture. In addition to my work in journalism, I make and design historical and fantasy costumes for myself and others. I am also the violinist for the Waytes of Carolingia, a small medieval dance band.
